Closing the dream gap for HER β€’

THE DREAM GAP - The space between who she is, and who she believes she’s capable of becoming

Who are we? we are her !

fEMPOWHER Global is a registered Canadian Charity on a powerful mission: to close the dream gap for girls, female-identifying youth, and young women by providing transformative opportunities in publishing, public speaking, and early entrepreneurship. Our focus is especially on those navigating social inequities or mental health challenges.

We are trauma-informed, equity-centered, and anchored in the belief that voice is power. By amplifying stories that have been silenced, we aim to rewrite the narratives that have historically held girls backβ€”through early intervention, education, and safe creative expression.

We’re currently raising funds to launch and/or continue our core programs and initiatives:

  • WriteHER – Fully-funded youth publishing and collaborative book scholarships

  • SpeakHER – Public speaking, confidence, and media training workshops

  • Pain to PowHER – Trauma-informed storytelling circles and peer support groups for navigating age-related social struggles

  • DreamHER Fund – Youth start-up microgrants, wealth and business mentorship for future entrepreneurs and leadHERS.

  • AmplifyHER – Safe social media and digital storytelling initiatives

Through writing and publishing scholarships, mentorship, public speaking, communication and media training, art therapy, safe social media initiatives and content creation programs, we help transform lived experiences into influence, alchemizing pain into power.

Our programs, core initiatives and events offer critical support and early intervention for mental health challenges, such as eating disorders, bullying, addiction, and sexual abuse, ensuring that every emerging storyteller, speaker, and future leader has the tools to rise, speak, and overcome.

Our Board brings:

  • All female founders, leadHers and experts in their fields.

  • Passion for women’s empowerment, youth mental health, publishing, media and gender equity.

  • Experience in one or more of the following: nonprofit, leadership, legal, finance, communications, education, trauma-informed practices, entrepreneurship, psychotherapy, DEI, fundraising.

  • A willingness to leverage their time, talent, and network to help amplify our mission.

  • Deep belief in the power of story and self-expression.

Together, we can build a world where every girl sees herself as the author of her own storyβ€”and the leader of her own future. We are building the creators of influence rather than the victims of it!.

What we do, & how we do it!

WriteHER – Youth Publishing & Collaborative Writing Programs

Purpose:
To advance education and relieve conditions associated with mental health by delivering literacy-based programming that supports the development of writing, publishing, and communication skills among girls and female-identifying youth.

Description:
WriteHER offers structured literary mentorship through two annual tracks:

  1. Collaborative Anthology Program – An 18-week program for groups of 12–25 youth (ages 12–18) focused on co-authoring a professionally published book. Participants engage in biweekly, guided workshops to build skills in writing, storytelling, editing, and publishing.

  2. Solo Book Projects – Up to 5 youth annually receive a full scholarship publishing deal with mentorship and editorial support to publish independent works such as poetry, short fiction, creative narrative nonfiction or illustrated children’s books.

Workshops incorporate evidence-based strategies to support literacy, self-expression, and mental wellness. The final deliverable is a professionally published book used as a tool for community education and personal development.

We aim to increase self-esteem, media literacy, and communication skills in participants while reducing isolation, internalized shame, and emotional distress. By becoming published authors, participants not only reclaim their voice but also build a sense of comradery, achievement, and purpose.
